Heather C. Baker

Heather C. Baker is a native of Jackson County, North Carolina and a graduate of Cullowhee High School (1986). She is a graduate of Oxford College of Emory University (A.A., 1988) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.A., 1990; J.D., 1993). Ms. Baker concentrates her practice in the area of Real Property, including development and residential and commercial real estate closings and in Business Law, including corporations and limited liability companies. She also handles Social Security Disability matters. She is a Member of the North Carolina and 30th Judicial District State Bars. Ms. Baker is a former Assistant District Attorney for the 30th Prosecutorial District. She is a former President of the 30th Judicial District Bar. Ms. Baker currently serves as a member of the North Carolina State Bar Board of Continuing Legal Education.

Ms. Baker is active in the community and currently volunteers by serving as the Chair of the WestCare Health System Foundation, the Treasurer for Mountain Youth Resources, Vice-President of KIDS Place, a child advocacy center, and as a member of the Board of the Community Table. She serves as legal counsel to Mountain Projects, Inc., Jackson County Habitat for Humanity and the Northern Jackson County Board of Realtors. She is married to Scott Baker and has two sons, Alex and Aaron. In her spare time, she enjoys UNC basketball, NFL football, walking and exercising, reading and watching movies.
