Monty C. Beck

Monty C. Beck was born in Lexington, North Carolina on December 4, 1958. Mr. Beck received his B.S. degree in Administration of Criminal Justice and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981. He received his law degree, with honors, from Campbell University School of Law in 1984. Mr. Beck served as Editor-in-Chief of The Campbell Law Review. He was selected as a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi while attending law school.

Mr. Beck concentrates his practice in the field of family law. He is a North Carolina State Bar certified specialist in Family Law, having been certified as a specialist since 2001. He has represented many medical and dental professionals, business owners and men and women from all walks of life in divorce proceedings. He focuses his practice area geographically in the 30th Judicial District (Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Clay, Swain, Cherokee and Graham counties) but also selectively represents clients from Buncombe County. Mr. Beck is admitted to practice in all state courts in North Carolina and has appeared in appellate cases before the North Carolina Court of Appeals in Raleigh, as well as the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. Mr. Beck has served as a member of the council of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.

Mr. Beck has been active in the community. He served as a founding Board member and as Chairperson of Kid’s Place of Macon County, a nonprofit organization providing services to abused and neglected children. He served on the Board of Mountain Youth Resources, Inc. He presently serves on the Board of Trustees of Angel Medical Center, Inc.
